Borrowing Privileges to the different users

Late submission fee/Overdue charges

In case books are retained by any member beyond the due date of the return, the borrower is charged a retention fee of Rs. 2/- per day per book/volume.

Loss of/Damage of library reading materials

  • In case of loss/damage of book(s) the borrower will be requested to replace the book(s) of the same edition or later editions within a fortnight with Rs. 50 towards RFID tags.
  • If the borrower is unable to replace the book(s) due to non-availability/out of print, then the borrower is liable to pay the two times cost of the book (MRP of present market) + overdue charge if any + incidental charges (Rs. 50 RFID tags cost).
  • In the case of foreign prices, the current Bank conversion rates in Rupees be charged along with other charges as mentioned in the Sl. No. 2.

Smart card lost/damaged

In case of loss/damage of smart card by any student, then an amount of Rs.300 shall be recovered from the concerned students towards cost of the card.

Scan/print/photocopy charges

Rs. 1 per page one side.

Library General Rules

  • All the users of the library are expected to uphold decorum, dignity, peace, and silence in the library premises.
  • Users are required to present their University-issued ID card upon entering the Library. This ID is essential for utilizing the self-checkout and self-check-in system (RFID) for borrowing materials.
  • Borrowers are advised to thoroughly inspect books and other reading materials for any missing pages, chapters, damages, or markings prior to borrowing them.
  • The use of personal stereos, music devices, and audible mobile phone conversations are prohibited. Additionally, smoking and the consumption of food and beverages within the Library are not allowed.
  • Books in damaged condition will not be accepted from the borrowers. Any instances of mutilation, writing, scribbling, marking, or cutting pages will be taken seriously, and borrowers may be required to replace with new one.
  • Borrowing privileges may be restricted or suspended in cases of misbehavior or misuse of library facilities or materials.
  • Users are responsible for all items issued in their name until they are returned to the Library.
  • The University smart ID card designated for borrowing materials is non-transferable and must be returned to the Library upon completion of use.
  • Faculty and staff who are going on extended leave—whether paid or unpaid—deputation, study leave, or extraordinary leave must return all borrowed materials before departing from the University.
  • All members are encouraged to store their personal belongings at the Property Counter at their own risk, as the Library does not assume responsibility for loss or damage.

E-Resources Use policy

Users may access, search, and download limited content for personal, teaching, or research purposes, and may reuse small portions with proper credit. Automated downloading, excessive copying, selling, or sharing with non-subscribers/commercial use is strictly prohibited.

Appropriate action will be initiated for any such violations.

IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) Policies

  • Faculty, researchers, and students may deposit their scholarly works in the IR, subject to copyright and publisher policies.
  • Deposited content will be openly accessible for academic and research purposes.

Library working Hours

The Central Library will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except on public holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Empanelment of Vendors for the purchase of Print books

LAC has approved to purchase print books through empanelment process by following the Manual for Financial System, and Procedures Internal Audit of the university.
